New school building for Gaelscoil Ultain
Gaelscoil Ultain warmly welcomes the announcement today by the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen TD, of an educational campus on the site of the Army Barracks in Monaghan Town and, in particular, the inclusion on the campus of a new permanent building for Gaelscoil Ultain.
This is the result of a 15-year campaign by the school management to secure suitable permanent accommodation for the school. We are delighted that this new educational development in Monaghan Town will give Gaelscoil Ultain a state of the art purpose built facility. Gaelscoil Ultain, at present, has an enrolment of 214 pupils and we envisage that the provision of a new building will enable us to expand further to meet the ever-increasing demand in the community for an all-Irish education.
The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Ultain would like to thank Martin O Brien, CEO Monaghan VEC, for his efforts in helping to secure this new educational campus for the town and look forward to working with the VEC in delivering the best possible educational facilities for the Gaelscoil Ultain community.
