Bhuaigh Gaelscoil Ultain Craobh Drámaíochta na hÉireann leis an cheoldráma Gillín Sneachta ag an Fhéile Náisiúnta Scoildrámaíochta le linn na seachtaine seo chuaigh thart. Beidh déanamh an cheoldráma le feiceáil sa chlár An Ceoldráma a bheidh a chraoladh ar TG4 go luath I 2014.

Gaelscoil Ultain’s production of Gillín Sneachta won an All Ireland title at
the Féile Náisiúnta Scoildrámaíochta in Mullingar last week. The show,
performed by Ranganna 4,5 and 6 from the school, had earlier received the Best Production award at the Ulster Finals in Letterkenny.

This year’s show had an added novelty value in that the making of the
ceoldráma was followed by Inscéal, an independent television production company. Inscéal recorded the progress of four schools, one from each province, as they put together their drama for participation in the Féile Scoildrámaíochta, and the whole process will be screened as a four part series, An Ceoldráma, on TG4 in early 2014.

Gillín Sneachta will be part of Gaelscoil Ultain’s school concert in the Garage Theatre on Thursday, 13 June 2013.

The following are the arrangements:

CLÁR AMA

• The children will be given a tour of the new school building during the school day on Friday 1 February 2013
• There will be an Open Morning for Parents in the new building on Sunday 3rd February 2013 from 11.30am-1.30pm.  This will give parents an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new building and with parking/traffic arrangements on campus.  Members of the Parents’ Committee will give parents a tour of the new school building
• Pupils and staff will get ready for the move on Friday, 8th February 2013
• Pupils in Ranganna 5 and 6 and staff will get the new classrooms ready on Monday 11 February 2013 - there will be no school for other classes on this day
• All pupils and staff will have the first day in the new school on Tuesday 12th February.
• School will be closed on Thursday and Friday 14 and 15 February 2013 for mid term break

HELP

We would appreciate some help from the parents with the move. Please read the attached sheet and return to school if you are able to help.

TRANSPORT

• Existing Bus Services will re route to new building.
• A new service is being put in place for pupils from the Monaghan Town area. Families who have applied for the new service will receive invoices shortly. Early return of payment or medical card details is advisable to ensure the service is up and running on the 12 February 2013.

SCHOOL HOURS

• From Tuesday 12 February 2012 the new School Hours will be 9.10am – 2.50pm (9.10am -1.50pm for Infants)
• Club Obair Bhaile will run from 3pm-4pm

We hope to make the move as smooth and as simple as possible. School work will continue as normal until Thursday 8 February 2013. It will then take us a few days to settle in the new school and normal work will resume  again on Monday 18 February 2013.  If you have any further queries feel free to contact the school 047 84321.

Príomhoide

The Gaelscoil Ultain Basketball Leagues came to an end this week with finals being played in all 5 sections. Over 200 children from Classes 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 participated in the leagues. Pictured are the happy players who reached the finals and picked up either a winners or runners-up prize.

The school opening hours will change on moving to the new building.  Classes will begin at 9am and finish at 2.40pm. A bus service from town is being put in place at present. We hope to bring all pupils on a visit to the new building in early February and we will also give parents an opportunity to visit the new building prior to the first day at school.

The school will be closed for mid-term break on Thurs/Fri 14-15th February 2013.

Please note that this is a provisional timetable and is subject to change.

Further details on the move to the new building will be available in early January 2013.
